Suspension

Spring rates, damper settings and ride height decide how a car feels on the road and how fast it is on track. We choose and set up each part together, then check the result on the alignment rig and in the car.

1. 1Top mountThe upper pivot. It sets camber and steering feel, and wears out first on a hard-driven car.
2. 2Upper spring seatWhere the spring is held and its preload is set.
3. 3SpringRate chosen for the weight of the car and how it is driven, road or track.
4. 4Perch and lock ringAdjusts ride height and corner weights.
5. 5Damper bodyCompression and rebound valving, matched to the spring.
6. 6Lower mountFixes the damper to the hub carrier. We check bushes and bolts at every service.

Tyres

Tyres are the only part of the car that touches the road. We help you choose the right size and compound for how you drive, then set pressures and alignment to match.

1. 1TreadCompound and pattern matched to road driving, trackdays or both.
2. 2SidewallIts stiffness changes turn-in and ride comfort. The size marking tells you what fits.
3. 3BeadWhere the tyre seals on the wheel. Careful fitting and balancing keep it true.
4. 4WheelWidth, offset and weight decide where the contact patch sits and how the suspension works.

Engine block

The block is where power is made and where it fails first. We prepare the block, pistons and head fixings for the boost you want to run, then tune the car to suit. The drawing shows a V6 from above, like the R35's VR38DETT.

1. 1Bore and cylinder wallHoned or re-sleeved to suit the pistons and the power target.
2. 2Piston crownForged pistons for higher boost, with compression ratio chosen alongside the tune.
3. 3Head-stud holesUpgraded studs hold the head down under higher cylinder pressure.
4. 4Valley galleriesOil and coolant passages, checked and cleaned during a rebuild.
5. 5Deck faceMachined flat so the head gasket seals properly.
